Ce documentaire est le premier à avoir été produit autour autour des Tortues Ninja. Celui-ci brosse principalement les périodes de 1983 à 1991 et se concentre sur la naissance de la licence et son avènement. De nombreux témoignages et vidéos d’époque et inédits agrémentent le tout afin de fournir aux fans une rétrospective de qualité.

De très nombreux passages n’ont pas été édités dans le DVD. Ceux-ci ont été précieusement conservés pour un second documentaire d’environ quatre heures sorti en 2025.
